Shillong, Oct 15: The BCCI has appointed the Vice President of Meghalaya Cricket Association (MCA), Rayonald Kharkamni as the BCCI “Match Observer” for the third Test match between India and New Zealand which begins from November 1 in Mumbai.
Kharkamni is also President of the Ri-Bhoi District Cricket Association (RBDCA) and has been greatly involved in the promotion of cricket in the district and state for several years.
The RBDCA in a statement has also congratulated Rayonald on his appointment as the match observer and thanked BCCI for having confidence in the State Association’s administrators and officials.
“It is a proud moment for the district association and such appointments and assignments from the BCCI will surely lead to a more promising future for cricket in the State,” added the statement.
Match Observers prepare official reports regarding the venues, umpires, players, etc.
New Zealand’s tour of India begins with the first Test in Bengaluru on Wednesday, followed by the second Test from 24 October in Pune and the third from 1 November in Mumbai.
